K-Lux Aesthetics & Wellness (“K-Lux,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a boutique aesthetics and wellness studio based in Brampton, Ontario. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect the personal information of our clients and website visitors, in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy law.
By booking a service, submitting an intake form, or using our website, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information:
• Contact information: name, phone number, email address, and mailing address (collected through our Square booking system or website contact forms).
• Health and intake information: medical history, allergies, medications, prior procedures (including surgeries relevant to post-operative care), skin/body conditions, and other information you provide on our intake forms. This is collected to screen for contraindications and to safely tailor treatments such as lymphatic drainage, post-operative recovery care, and facial sculpting.
• Booking and payment information: appointment history, service selections, and payment details processed through Square. K-Lux does not store your full credit card information — this is handled directly by Square’s payment processing systems.
• Photos and videos: before-and-after images or video (e.g., skin pinch tests, treatment documentation) taken with your explicit consent, for either your treatment records or marketing use — these are treated as separate consents (see Section 5).
• Communications: messages you send us via email, text, Instagram/TikTok, or through our booking platform, including appointment reminders and follow-ups.
• Website usage data: basic technical information (such as browser type and pages visited) collected automatically if you use our website, typically via Wix’s built-in analytics/cookies.
2. Why we collect this information
We use your information to:
• Assess your suitability and safety for specific treatments (health/intake information)
• Book, confirm, and manage appointments
• Process payment for services
• Communicate with you about your appointments, aftercare, and any changes to our services
• Improve our services and maintain accurate client records
• With your separate, explicit consent, use before-and-after photos/video for marketing on Instagram, TikTok, or our website
• Comply with any applicable legal or regulatory record-keeping requirements
We do not use your health/intake information for marketing purposes.
3. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:
• Square, our booking and payment processor, to schedule appointments and process payments
• Wix, our website host, which may process basic technical/analytics data for site visitors
• Email/SMS providers we use to send appointment confirmations and reminders
• Legal or regulatory authorities, only if required by law
Any third-party service provider we use is required to handle your information securely and only for the purpose we’ve engaged them for.
4. HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION:
Health intake forms and client records are stored securely and access is limited to Shaz, the sole practitioner and operator of K-Lux. Payment information is handled entirely by Square’s secure, PCI-compliant systems. K-Lux does not directly store card details.
5. PHOTOS, VIDEOS & MARKETING CONSENT:
Any use of your image or video for marketing (social media, website, promotional material) is optional and requires your separate written or verbal consent, obtained at the time of your appointment. You may decline this consent while still receiving treatment, and you may withdraw consent for future use of your image at any time by contacting us, though we may not be able to remove content already published to third-party platforms (e.g., previously posted Instagram/TikTok content).
6. YOUR RIGHTS:
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Request corrections to inaccurate information
• Withdraw consent for the collection, use, or disclosure of your information (including marketing use of photos/video), subject to legal or contractual restrictions
• Request that we delete your information, where reasonably possible and not required to be kept for legal/record-keeping reasons

7. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY:
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If a minor requires services, this will only be conducted with the informed consent of, and in the presence of, a parent or legal guardian, and any necessary intake information will be provided and consented to by that guardian.
8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent revision.
